SPIE Asia

SPIE Asia is a community to bring student chapters across Asia under one umbrella. It was initiated in 2008 by SPIE Singapore Student Chapter to have good interaction among student chapters in Asia. The main objective is to get the chapter officers under one roof to discuss issues, share ideas, individual experiences, activities etc,.. in organizing a chapter.

Last year SPIE Asia was held during 30 June - 2 July along with "International Symposium on Laser metrology" conference in Singapore. We got good response from other student chapters around the Asia about starting such an event to interact with one another. We had events like hands on optics by Dirk Fabian, Lunch with experts in the field of optics and Career talks by local companies.The local school students and teachers also joined us and enjoyed the event.
